The purpose of Next Steps for Justice is to bring our elected officials, policy changers, local politicians, and business professionals who are in charge of institutions, together with our larger Dubuque Community.

Protests will continue to happen as the people see fit, and in conjunction we will work to develop a movement that puts the voice of the people center stage while allowing for collaboration during the solution/plan development process. This is a great way for community members to hold officials, and institutions accountable for coming to the table, putting forth a true effort to bring change that is “Acceptable” for all, and following up by implementing those changes through practice.

The sessions will be virtual (Zoom) so that more people can attend and we will have to start out, will include:

  • Criminal Justice
  • Housing
  • Education

We have a solid core of facilitators who will guide everyone through the process each session so that everything goes smoothly and everyone is heard.  Come ready to learn, come ready to share, and come ready to work together so that we can get the change we all want to see.
